California-born and raised, with a degree from the renowned Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Alvin spent the early years of her career as an animation designer and layout artist for many national commercials and television shows.  Andrea and her noted illustrator husband John, created ad campaigns and posters for many major motion pictures.

As a fine artist, her work is recognized and exhibited throughout the United States.  She is known for her portrayal of everyday objects from nostalgic popular culture – candy, junk food and toys – painted in a style located somewhere between 19th-century Impressionism and more modern Photorealism.

“Beyond simple representation, I try to capture the childlike feeling of delving into another world where we are safe, solitary adventurers gazing up at the next great Wonder – staged and lit and ready for it’s close up.”
