Ann Moring is a longtime resident of Rhinebeck.  She is a painter, sculptor and potter.  She started her formal training in Detroit and has continued her training with artists/teachers in New York state.   Growing up as an army brat, she has lived in many different states and countries. As an artist she believes that the Hudson Valley is one of the most beautiful and inspiring regions of the world.

Ann works with multiple mediums from figurative sculpture and pottery to watercolor and oil.

She believes that working with two and three dimensional art forms complement each discipline.  Her goal with sculpture is to capture the mood, gesture and form of the figure.

Ann’s goal as a painter is to capture the magic and mystery in nature with light and color.

Her sculptures are classically representational.  Her animal pieces are whimsical and a fun.

Ann’s painting method has changed overtime from impressionistic and representational to more abstract.

Ann displays her artwork in many local shows and is a member of the Tivoli Artist Gallery. She plans to return as a participating artist in ASV2025.
