GLASS BY DEA – Home glass studio and greenhouse gallery
Since 2022, I have explored several directions simultaneously. Both involve searching for a new vision amidst the old.
1. Glass-painting studies in glass
Many of these panels are made using glass painting studies from previous commissioned pieces. In collage style , these studies come together with additional paint, followed by traditional stained glass leading, to create an entirely new glass panel.
2. Re interpreting images, in acrylic on canvas
This is a series of paintings that reinterpret images from what lens capture of Earth seen through varied lenses: microscopes, satellite images, camera in hand or drones. The imagined image from each canvas is a reflection of the moment.
Dea Archbold is an experienced kiln fired glass painting artist with skills in all stages of leaded and foiled glass window construction,
glass fusing, window restoration and commission work. Her home studio is set up to implement the entire process from beginning to finish.
