I moved to the Hudson Valley in 1984 as a single mother of twins and didn’t want to leave home to work. I started making glass boxes and selling them wholesale. Over the years I’ve made many different products but always came back to boxes. I now make Reliquary Boxes on old hand run machines from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. The machines themselves are sculpture.

Because life became so different this year, I took time to step out of my comfort zone.

I decided to attempt silver work with a homemade hydraulic press. I make Old Road Medals as brooches or necklaces. As a kid I lost a beautiful old St. Christopher medal on a walk. I was devasted, my sister told me someone would find it one day and be so happy. At age 6 that gave me great comfort. I now imagine these silver medals have much more of a history than being literally “fresh off the press”.

I will have an array of Items at my studio ranging from frames, lighting,  jewelry, wall pieces and of course boxes.
