My kinetic mobiles draw from the lineage of Alexander Calder’s balanced abstractions while recontextualizing motion through an industrial and postmodern lens. I combine traditional principles of equilibrium, proportion, and suspended movement with materials and forms that evoke machinery, infrastructure, and the aesthetics of mass production. Steel, copper, and engineered connections introduce a tension between delicacy and weight, precision and unpredictability. In this hybrid language with maximizing motion in as many degrees of freedom as possible, movement becomes both poetic and mechanical—each shifting element suggesting systems in flux rather than harmony alone. By merging handcrafted balance with industrial vocabulary, my work explores how contemporary environments shape perception, inviting viewers to consider motion not just as natural rhythm, but as something constructed, mediated, and continuously renegotiated.
